Today’s Exercise is

Exquisite Corpse

  • Objective: To create a surreal and unpredictable narrative by hiding previous contributions.
  • How to Play:
    1. Each person has a piece of paper. The facilitator gives a sequence of prompts.
    2. Prompt 1: “Write the name of a character.” After writing, fold the paper over to hide the name.
    3. Prompt 2: “Write where the character is.” Fold and pass the paper to the person on your right.
    4. Prompt 3: “Write what they are doing.” Fold and pass.
    5. Continue with prompts like “What another character said to them,” “The consequence of their action,” and “How it all ended.”
    6. At the end, everyone unfolds their paper and reads the bizarre, collaborative story aloud.
  • Best for: Generating humor, breaking down creative inhibitions.
