Thank you for joining us in The Writer’s Playground series!
Here we run through writing games to spark imagination and sharpen your craft.
Today’s Exercise is
The Conjunction Game
- Objective: To understand how sentence flow and logical connection are built.
- How to Play: Given a simple prompt, writers must construct a paragraph where every sentence begins with a coordinating conjunction (“For,” “And,” “Nor,” “But,” “Or,” “Yet,” “So”). This constraint forces a focus on the relationship between sentences and creates a unique narrative rhythm.
Best for: Improving narrative flow, prose rhythm, and understanding syntax.
