Today’s Exercise is
Exquisite Corpse
- Objective: To create a surreal and unpredictable narrative by hiding previous contributions.
- How to Play:
- Each person has a piece of paper. The facilitator gives a sequence of prompts.
- Prompt 1: “Write the name of a character.” After writing, fold the paper over to hide the name.
- Prompt 2: “Write where the character is.” Fold and pass the paper to the person on your right.
- Prompt 3: “Write what they are doing.” Fold and pass.
- Continue with prompts like “What another character said to them,” “The consequence of their action,” and “How it all ended.”
- At the end, everyone unfolds their paper and reads the bizarre, collaborative story aloud.
- Best for: Generating humor, breaking down creative inhibitions.
